Nail Health & Aftercare Guide

Nail Health & Aftercare

In our opinion, at Elegance of Nails, nail care should never be a rushed or mundane experience.

For us, every appointment is a chance to take care of your natural nails and create something beautiful that will last.

Our philosophy is simple: we care about your nail health, we pay attention to every detail, and we create nails that feel like you. Whether it's clean and simple or detailed and artistic, we think about structure, balance, and durability, not shortcuts.

Longevity & Maintenance

Fills will keep your balance and shape while your natural nails grow out. Waiting too long between appointments may cause lifting, stress, or breakage – not because something was done incorrectly, but because the shape just needs to be adjusted.

To maintain structure, balance, and overall nail health, appointments are recommended every 2–3 weeks and should not extend beyond 4 weeks.

Consistency is what keeps your nails looking great and feeling strong between appointments.

Healthy nails are not just about what happens in the studio — they’re shaped by what happens between appointments.

Aftercare

How you treat your nails between appointments matters. Cuticle oil helps keep the nail flexible and supports healthy growth. Applying it daily, especially around the base of the nail, can make a noticeable difference over time. Make sure to also keep your hands moisturized with a lotion of your choice.

Avoid impact and using your nails as tools. Be mindful of your nails being submerged in water for long periods of time. If your lifestyle requires that you constantly wash your hands throughout the day, have cuticle oil and lotion on hand to protect your nails and hands.

Picking or peeling the product can weaken the natural nail underneath and shorten the life of your set. If something feels off — lifting, breakage, or discomfort — reach out. It’s always better to address it early. Repairs may be done within the first week after your appointment, free of charge. Please refer to our policies to learn more.

When to Contact Us

If you notice lifting, breakage, unusual discomfort, or signs of irritation, please reach out as soon as possible. Addressing concerns early helps protect your natural nails and prevent further damage.

If an issue occurs within the first 7 days of your appointment, we’re happy to assess and determine whether a repair is appropriate. After 7 days, adjustments may be treated as a standard repair service, as normal wear and lifestyle factors begin to play a role.

We always encourage open communication — if something doesn’t feel right, let us know. Contact us HERE.

What We Don’t Recommend

We do not recommend removing or peeling the product at home. Picking, prying, or forcefully lifting enhancements can weaken the natural nail, cause thinning, and compromise future services.

Improper removal often leads to unnecessary damage that requires additional time and care to correct. Even if the product appears lifted, removing it yourself can worsen the condition of the nail plate underneath.

If you’re ready for a removal or experiencing lifting, we’re happy to assist professionally to protect the integrity and long-term health of your nails.
